Carving Club

You make jewellery every day for your business, but how often do you sit down to make something for yourself, or try out something new?

It’s time to make space for your creativity and carve for you!

Carve a piece of jewellery based on the months theme from the comfort of your studio. Share your progress, struggles, and successes with the other club members. And finish the month with a new piece of jewellery for you!

It’s a low pressure club, that works around your schedule. You can put in as much or as little time as you want.

How does it work?

At the start of the month I set a theme. Then you have the whole month to make a piece based on that theme. Once a week share your progress with the group in our Slack chat group and plan how much progress you want to make in the coming week. Repeat every week until the end of the month and we’re celebrating everybody’s finished pieces in the chat! Compliment each others work. Give advice and encouragement to those who need it. Celebrate when someone is on a roll and makes multiple pieces. And receive it all in return! When one piece is finished, a new month and a new theme starts, and we do it all again!

Why join?

Carving club is creative free time for you the person, not business you with a to-do list. You and I both know the best new ideas come from playing around and trying something new, not from working through that to-do list. Embrace your creativity! Try out a new technique you’ve been wanting to learn but haven’t had the time for. Make earrings for a change if you always make rings. Be brave and try out a completely different style. Use that new-for-you wax to find out what it’s like to work with. Finally figure out how to make cufflinks! Carving club is a safe testing ground for you to flex your creative muscles, and meet other creatives who are looking to do the same. It’s carving for fun, not business. The goal? For you to have fun carving, get weird and creative with it, get new inspiration and meet other people who want the same things! And really, joining carving club is a win-win situation! You grow as a designer by designing around different themes you might not have chosen yourself. You’re improving your carving skills and techniques because you’re still making. Best of all, the pieces you make in carving club can be the beginning of new collections!

Carving club starts March 1st!

  • Let’s try it out for one month!

  • I’m ready, let’s do this for 12 months!
